Disclaimers: 1) I do know the author and consider her a friend. 2) I'm not normally a YA or shifter reader.Okay, those things said, I really liked this book. Better than the first one, actually. There's plenty of action, but also plenty of the semi-mystic reflection that so sets Wendy's writing apart. This chapter of Sky & Bastian's story gives us much different perspective on important secondary characters and introduces at least one truly fascinating new one.
What I think I love most about the world Wendy had created is that it's so well felt out. Yes felt, not thought. There's sort of an instinctual beauty about her shifter creations that sometimes defy human logic but manage, inexplicably, to make perfect sense at the same time. Looking forward to the third one!

The Forgotten The Naming of Legends Book 2 eBook Wendy Beck Reviews
After reading the first book of this series I was totally in love with Bastian and almost jealous of the relationship he had with Sky. Theirs was something special a once in a lifetime love that withstands whatever is thrown at it.
Book #2, The Forgotten did not disappoint. In fact it tested that fairy tale romance and had me booing, cheering, gasping, crying, swooning and even fanning myself a bit as the passion erupted. All of this while delving deeper into the shifter society of the Maarjaaran. Again, the author Wendy Beck delights with a well-rounded book that doesn't sacrifice a background story for the sake of having amazing characters and relationships.
That being said, I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series and will keep my eye on Wendy Beck for years to come. She's an up and coming author with a ton of potential and a fluid style that allows me to lose myself in her work.
This had me at the edge if my seat from start to finish! The writing was so exceptional that it evoked profound emotions for each one of the characters.
The naming of legends is an amazing series that readers will love endlessly.
Great read! Loved 9th Life, can't wait to get the next (there must be a next!!!). Believe in Wendy Beck!
Having read the first two in what I think are a trilogy, I am intrigued. I love Wendy Becks writing style and her character formation. Story lines are wonderful!!
Must have book three now! Of course, it might help to catch a little sleep first. I literally couldn't put this book down!
I thoroughly enjoyed book one of this series (9th Life), but this one definitely topped it. Although it's not quite the easy, fun read I so often look for, it had me addicted from the beginning. It was quite the roller coaster ride of every emotion imaginable.
It's rare for me to become so invested in the lives of characters, but I found myself needing to know how they could possibly work their way through the difficulties life seems to hand them at every turn. Even during the rare times I had to set the book down to deal with real life, I couldn't help but think about it.
My only disappointment is that book three is yet to be published...sigh. I can't wait for Skybound - and I really look forward to getting to know Naiwen - she shows up very late in the book and is quite the character!
This is my favorite book by Beck.
Complications arise for Bastian and Skyler that force painful decisions and up the tension. Her supernatural beings are engrossing and imaginative.
Bastian and Skyler explore a physical relationship in this book and by the time they make love, you are so engrossed in their committed relationship that it takes your breath away.
The Forgotten is a book that I quickly devoured and left me hungry to know how the series will conclude.
